I feel like so much an idiot with this....
The small block is a 327. I don't see anywhere above the front spark plugs...
There's a large 'plug' happening top of the H2O heart...??

Temp transmitter on a 327 is on upside of the intake manifold, rider side beside or in strawma of the radiator hose.

On the driver's side Cyl. head, there will be a male plug (not a sparking plug) in between the two front cylinders. If you have headers, IT bequeath Be below the mounting plate; there might even Be a cut-out for IT. This is a good a place as whatsoever for temp transmitter.

WOW! It's none of those places! The only station I insure is a gnomish (3/8") square hoopla on the intake vindicatory to a lower place the warmer hose inlet...
Jeezlahweez...I didn't know they would change-up the location of this so many times...I'll go searching around.
Thank you guys.

Russntustin, what cylinder heads do you have? Brawl they have a "staggered" bolt pattern happening the valve covers? If so, they are 265 heads; which don't take water jacketing around the trigger off plugs. They Crataegus oxycantha/may not have the nag above/between the front two cylinders.
There should besides be ports for your sender on either side of the thermoregulator lodging, since this is the only coolant connection between the two banks of cylinders.

I want to thank you guys...
GMC: No the valve spread over bolts are not staggered, they are inline with each other.
Squeeze...thanks for the impression...This engine doesnt accept that "put" for the sender.
I regard I knew more than about the locomotive engine..the engine was put in by person I'm non able to talk with.
The intake is a stock looking cast iron part.
So the area for the sending unit SHOULD Make up connected the INTAKE someplace? I'll try and post a a few pictures today.
THANKS ALOT FOR THE HELP!

Russ, the sender was in the first runner on the manifold, that is the water passage on a small block, was too on the heads on later models, check the head connected different lateral in between rear two cyl. the therm. housing also, you stool probably get peerless of those housings from napa, or you could put the heater hosepipe on the heart outlet and use the other one for the sender.

Yes it is a four barrel manifold.
There's nil on either head word...
Would the sending unit study connected top of the pump??
Is this a common weewe pump thereupon plug on big top?? (I don't remember seeing that on others)

Russ - father't think I've ever gotten a pump for a 283 that didn't get that plug, but if the sender is hangin in there it might interfere w/ the impeller or w/ irrigate flow - also that'd put the transmitter happening the incoming water, needs to get on the outgoing . . . .
a buck will get ya a street el from the plumbing stash awa, which testament put that location close enuff to the current one so heater hose fits ok, and the sender is same shriek thread as the breathe - wear't worry about the details, just do it!! grin
