"Don't Go" is a song by British synth-popular band Yazoo (known in the U.s. and Canada as Yaz). It was released in 1982 as the second unmarried from their debut album, Upstairs at Eric's.
Overview [edit]
Released in 1982, the song peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Yazoo'due south second top v hit. In the U.s., where the band was known equally Yaz, the song was their second big hit on the American trip the light fantastic chart, where it spent two weeks at number 1 in October 1982. Their first American dance chart hit was "State of affairs", which had besides gone to number one on this chart earlier the same twelvemonth. Ian Birch of Smash Hits considered "Don't Go" to be a "sharp successor" to "Only You lot". He commented: "Vince coaxes a sterling vocal out of his synthesizer while Alf balances its metal clip with a deep, emotion-packed vocal that gets better with every hearing".[3]
